New District 50 Family Alert!
Don't forget that our new student registration will be open at both buildings from 8am-2pm tomorrow (Friday, July 17th). Kindergarten-Third grade is at John L. Hensey (304 E. Almond Drive) and Fourth-Eighth is at Beverly Manor (1014 School Street). If you have a new student or you know of new neighbors, please spread the word. We will have spaces for paperwork to be filled out on site with appropriate distancing in place and ask that you wear a mask before entering and while in the building. Have a few items handy:
-Birth Certificate
-Proof of Residency (such as utility bill, lease, bank statements, etc.)
Thank you and we are excited to meet our new families tomorrow. **Registration for Returning families is still available via Skyward or can be done at the building on Monday, July 20th from 3pm-7pm. New families can come during this time as well if you cannot make our date tomorrow.
Softball open field is cancelled for tomorrow. We will resume on Friday.

I have to CANCEL the rest of our July Girl’s Basketball Open Gyms.
The lighting work in the Beverly Manor gym is now underway and is off-limits to visitors and staff.
In addition to the lighting install, cleaning and refinishing the gym and commons area floors with new coats of wax will be from Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 24th. This means that there will be no foot traffic allowed on the stripped commons floor or inside the gym area.
If anything changes, I’ll communicate soon as I can.

D50 parents/softball players: Open fields will be from 10-11:30 instead of 10-12. We’ve gotten some guidelines from IESA and we can only do hitting/fielding drills and must keep 6ft between players.
Dates are still July 13-17 and July 20-24.

1. Families with incoming K, 2nd, or 6th graders will need to pay close attention to exams for Physical, Dental, Vision, and Immunization Requirements prior to the Aug. 7th start date. *Please schedule these as soon as possible. (Reserve appts. with the Tazewell County Health Dept. if you'd like by calling 309-929-0294 or visiting www.tazewellhealth.org.

D50 parents: Softball open fields will be held July 13th-17th and July 20th-24th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day. This is open to 6th-8th grade girls who are interested in playing softball for the upcoming school season. The program will be FREE. With attorneys and retired judges, we plan to have mock trials in the Peoria County areas. Let’s plan the next generation of Peoria trial lawyers together. If you know any student interested, let me know.  You can live in any Central Illinois town and participate, however, we will utilize Peoria County community centers.”
